November 27, 2013: speaking at the interaction held by the Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) in Kathmandu on November 25, 2013, the founding president of the organization Krishna Pahadi suggested the NC and CPN-UML not to quit building a consensus on crating a new constitution acceptable to all after the election victory, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonlie.com’.
"If this does not happen, the nation will again plunge into another conflict. Election result is not important but the election system is important," he added.
President of HURPES Homkanta Chaulagain said the successful completion of the CA elections has helped institutionalize democracy. The government to be formed in the future should not sideline any parties and should focus on facilitating the constitution drafting.
According to information given by the Society on the occasion, it had deputed 424 national observers in 33 districts during the November 19 elections. So far, it found no irregularities in the election process. The society urged the NC and the CPN-UML not to be overly euphoric, not to forget building a consensus for taking all the parties together to crafting a new constitution.
