March 11, 2010: despite the security tightening, the Madhav administration has imposed around the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu in view of the possibility of staging anti-China protest rallies, Free Tibet people have held a rally against the Chinese rule in Tibet on March 10, 2010 to mark the Tibetan uprising against the Chinese rule in which 86,000 Tibetans had sacrificed their precious lives in 1959.
Denying the fundamental human rights to stage a peaceful rally anywhere they reside, the Nepalese security police have rounded up 34 protestors when they have attempted to stage a protest rally in Kathmandu chanting slogans against the Chinese rule in Tibet and waving the Tibetan national flags.
Speaking at the function held at Dharmshala in India to mark the anniversary of the Tibetan uprising against the Chinese rule in Tibet in 1959, the Dalai Lama angrily accused the Chinese authorities of trying to deliberately annihilate Buddhism in Tibet. The spiritual leader has said that the Chinese government is putting the monks and nuns in prison-like conditions, depriving them of the opportunity to study and practice Buddhism in peace.
