Nepal Shutdown In Death Of Alleged Murderer

December 17, 2011: unfortunately, leader of Chitwan Tarundal affiliated to the Nepali Congress (NC) died today in the morning. In memory of the alleged murderer Tarundal leader Shiva Poudel, NC cadres, Tarundal cadres and members of the Nepal Student Union affiliated to the NC have successfully shut down entire Nepal causing tremendous inconvenience to the people in general and long-distance travelers in particular. NC has called the Nepal shutdown on Monday December 19, 2011 in protest of the death of alleged murderer Tarundal leader Shiva Poudel.
According to the Avenue TV, the group led by Shiva Poudel and another group affiliated to the CPN-UML have a long-standing enmity concerning the commissions and the contracts they secured. In course of the fight between the two groups, the group led by Shiva Poudel killed Sanjay Lama of the group affiliated to the CPN-UML in revenge to the death of his brother Gopi Poudel. So, Shiva Poudel had been in the Chitwan jail for allegedly killing Sanjay Lama.
Some of the Sanjay Lama group had been in the same jail allegedly for killing Gopi Poudel where Shiva Poudel was. Obviously, the Sanjay Lama group took revenge attacking Shiva Poudel and his associates in the jail critically injuring Shiva Poudel.
Unfortunately, Shiva Poudel died today morning. Immediately after the news of the death of Shiva Poudel, NC cadres, Tarundal cadres and Nepal Student Union members went to streets terrorizing the people on the streets breaking cars, micro buses and motorcycles in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. About 20 vehicles were burnt down in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. They also have damaged some buses parked in Chitwan and elsewhere in Nepal.
They also have attacked the plane belonging to the Buddha Air in the Bharatpur airport. According to the Avenue TV, the plane was preparing to take off where a group of the Tarundal cadres managed to enter the airport and stoned the plane causing damages and to off load the passengers. All regular flights from Bharatpur to Kathmandu have been cancelled.
The NC has demanded the government to declare the alleged murderer Shiva Poudel a martyr and pay compensation to his family. The so-called Democratic Party NC and its affiliates have been terrorizing the people bringing the entire country to standstill without prior notice on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in protest of the death of the alleged murderer Shiva Poudel.
The government has taken serious actions against the officials responsible for the security of the Chitwan jail suspending them from the jobs for not being able to prevent the group fight in the Chitwan jail. The government has suspended the chief of the local administration for not being able to prevent the group fight in the Chitwan jail. However, the NC has been charging the government for not being serious about the incident and for not taking appropriate actions against the culprits and demanded the resignation of the current government.
The government had even sent a renowned neuro-surgeon Upendra Devkota to Chitwan to immediately treat Shiva Poudel. However, the health condition of Shiva Piudel did not improve. Then, the government airlifted Shiva Poudel to Kathmandu for treatment. Unfortunately, Shiva Poudel could not survive the injuries.
The NC and its sister organizations have made the death of alleged murderer Shiva Poudel a political issue. They have shut down the entire country today disregarding the convenience of the people in general. They have engaged in criminal acts burning down vehicles and even damaging a plane at the Bharatpur airport today. The NC has declared the shutdown of the entire country on Monday, December 19, 2011. Nobody knows how many vehicles they will burn down on Monday.
