Nepalese House Free From Hostage Takers
By KTM Metro Reporter
August 11, 2011: after Deputy Prime Minster Bharat Mohan Adhikari read out the letter at the House sent by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal that stated he would leave the office by August 13, 2011, NC lawmakers released the House. NC lawmakers have been holding the House hostage demanding the resignation of the prime minister for almost two weeks.
The story of forcing Madhav Nepal out of the prime ministerial office is repeating again. The country will be again without the elected government. How long political parties will take to form a new government remains to be seen. None of them is sincere to the country and is working for the country.
Upon arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu from Malaysia yesterday, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has told the reporters that an environment conducive to build a consensus on completing the peace process and the constitution writing has been created because political leaders have already realized that any government based on the majority votes could not complete these two national tasks. However, he did not say whether the NC leaders have the same thinking as of his. NC lawmakers have just released the House from hostage after the prime minister guaranteed his resignation by August 13, 2011.
