Nepalese Prime Minister Meets With Chinese President

On December 30, 2009, Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has met with Chinese President Hu Jintao at Great Hall Of People in Beijing, and has had talks about mutual benefits. Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has asked Chinese President Hu Jintao for cooperation on peace and stability in Nepal and on resource generation and technology for the economic development of Nepal.
Prime Minister Nepal has repeated his commitment not to allow any forces use the Nepalese territory for any anti-China or separatist activities, and also to one-China Policy saying Taiwan and Tibet are the integral parts of Mainland China.
Chinese President Hu Jintao has shown his interest in cooperating on the areas Prime Minister Nepal has described. Concerning the Nepal-China relations, President Hu has said that the Nepal-China tie has developed in an exemplary way since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1955.
According to the joint statement released on December 30, 2009, Prime Minister Nepal extended cordial invitation to President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and other Chinese leaders to pay official visits to Nepal at a mutually convenient time. The Chinese expressed the appreciation and accepted the invitations with delight. The specific date of visits will be discussed through diplomatic channels.
