Nepalese Schools Become Peace Zones And School Buses Ambulances

Issue 22, May 29, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

May 26, 2011: the government of Nepal has declared the schools are the peace zones, and has given the school buses the status of ambulances. So, school children could go to schools even if some criminals try to encroach on the rights of other people calling shutdowns if the government is really for enforcing its decisions. If the past experiences are any guide then we can surely say that the current decisions might be cheap populist actions as the government surely cannot punish the criminals that go around shutting down everything at any time they like, and damage even ambulances and the buses carrying the medics.

Let us hope the current Maoist Home Minister would strictly enforce the decision made by the coalition government of the UCPN-Maoist, CPN-UML and MPRF-N. As a matter of fact, the enforcement of the decision would be tested on Friday, May 27, 2011 when the saviors of cows would enforce their decision to shut down the business of the entire people including the schools ignoring such acts are really criminal acts.
