Nepalese Youths For Foreign Jobs

June 16, 2010: thousands of Nepalese youth have lined up at the stadium in Kathmandu from the early morning to fill out the application forms for going to work in South Korea on June 15, 2010. The Korean manpower agency gives examinations to the Nepalese youths wishing to work in Korea and then send the successful candidates to work in Korea.
Almost every Nepalese youth has been an aspirant to take up a foreign job believing to make fortune working abroad. Even the youths with higher educational qualifications have opted for working abroad as they earn a number of times more in foreign countries than in Nepal. In addition, they complain that they don’t have good job opportunities in Nepal.
Every person spends almost US$ 1,000 for completing all sorts of formalities for working to go abroad. Some youths take a loan whereas other sell their property hoping to earn more in foreign countries and then buying back their property for a better living.
They have been sending a large portion of their incomes to Nepal to their families. The money they have sent to Nepal comprises more than 20 percent of the current Gross Domestic Products of Nepal. Thus, working abroad, Nepalese youths have been contributing significantly to the national economy.
