No Chance Of Presidential Or Military Rule In Nepal

Issue 14, April 04, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

April 1, 2010: speaking to the group of reporters visited him at his residence in Kathmandu on March 31, 2010, President Ram Baran Yadav has said that the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 has no provision for both the presidential or military rule; the president’s work is to check whether the recommendations made by the Prime Minister are following the constitution or not and then approve them if yes.

Concerning the recent public statements of former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Former King Gyanendra Shah, the president has simply said that they are just like the date-expired medicines in other words people should throw them out.

The president also has advised the reporters to write only truth not to go after the rumors, as the press is the oxygen for the democracy, and the people have the rights to the correct information in democracy.

The president has also said that the country is still on track but it has been late to work on the consensus politics for peace and constitution according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of April 1, 2010.
