No Offer of Prime Ministerial Position to Girija

On October 5, 2009, speaking at the function held to welcome the newcomers entering in the United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist, Chairman Prachanda has said, “ I have never talked with President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala about making him Prime Minister; the publicity of making offer the position of Prime Minister to Girijababu made in the Nepalese press is entirely false; our stand on forming a national government under our leadership holds on; we have not changed our position on this matter; the Nepalese people have given the mandate to us to lead the government so we are not for anything less than that.”
He also has said that he has been talking to leaders of different political parties to end the current political deadlock.
