People’s Liberation Army To Make A Call For Fresh Recruits

August 03, 2010: talking to the reporter, Deputy Commander of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Chandra Prakash Khanal 'Baldev' has said that PLA will make a call for recruits to make its strength of 31,315 that the UNMIN has reduced to 19,604 disqualifying PLA men saying they are under-aged reports nepalnews.com.
Following the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nepal on allowing the Nepal Army to make fresh recruitment of new soldiers, PLA has also announced to make new recruitment of Nepalese youths of above 18 years with strong patriotic feelings to counter the fresh recruitment of the Nepal Army that has announced the fresh recruitments disregarding the Comprehensive Peace Agreement the Government of Nepal has reached with the then CPN-Maoist in 2006.
“Joint Monitoring Coordination Committee (JMCC) cannot be biased against us by barring PLA from recruitment while allowing the Nepal Army to do the same,” Khanal said according to the myrepublica.com.
