People’s Revolt Again

March 9, 2010: speaking at the mass rally held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on March 8, 2010 to mark the 100th International Women’s Day, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that some people have been attempting on dissolving the Constituent Assembly portraying the UCPN-Maoist: the parent of the Constituent Assembly as the party working against the new constitution, and they are portraying themselves as the guardian of the constitution and the peace. I want to end such false accusations made by the reactionaries and the people that want the status quo.
Prachanda has said that neither the Singhadurbar means the government nor the palace means king has given birth to the Constituent Assembly but the people have given the birth to the Constituent Assembly; so the people would launch a final revolt if the Constitution were not made on time.
Prachanda has charged the reactionaries that they have been conspiring with the politicians opting for status quo in a shady room against the Nepalese people tempting the Nepal Army to be prepared for fight falsely publicizing that the Maoists have brought weapons into cantonments; however, the Nepal Army have been with the people for protecting the people’s interest so would not follow them and safeguard their interest; the Nepal Army have not protected the former king from falling so would not protect those reactionary leaders of the NC and the CPN-UML, too.
