February 27, 2011: speaking at an interaction function held by the ‘Republic Contact Forum’, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that his party will never back off from the seven-point deal he has reached with Chairman of CPN-UML, and the newly elected government will enforce it, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
Speaking at the same function, chairman Prachanda has said that the current political deadlock has not been broken due to the resistance to federalism by the NC and CPN-UML and some other minor parties; however, he said, "Federalism will save the rights of the people. If we succeed to establish a federal system, no force will be able to create a conflict in the nation."
"The seven-point pact will help establish the people’s rights. Some UML leaders were against the provision of people’s federal democracy and they are trying to create obstacles to establish the federal system and are also hampering formation of a full cabinet," ‘The Rising Nepal’ quotes Prachanda.
One of the Vice-chairmen of UCPN-Maoist Dr. Baburam Bhattarai in Kavre on Saturday has charged the CPN-UML with trying to form a government without the Maoists, and has warned of taking the course of the people’s revolution if any force goes against the peace process and the constitution writing; and has assured of his party not backing off from the seven-point deal including all deals singed in the past for completing the peace process and constitution writing.
