Possibility Of Promulgating Constitution On Time

March 22, 2011: Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subash Nemwang has met with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav yesterday and briefed him on the progress in the peace process and constitution writing. During the meeting Chairman Nemwang told the president that the fundamentals of the new constitution have been completed, as contentious constitutional issues have been identified and the concept papers and preliminary reports of all 11 thematic committees have been submitted to the Constitutional Committee of the Constituent Assembly and the peace process is going to be completed according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today.

Chairman of Constituent Assembly Nemwang has also told the president that the possibility of promulgating a new constitution in time has been enhanced, as parties have been sincerely engaged in talks about completing the peace process and the constitution writing.

Speaking to a rally held in Baitadi yesterday, Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist has said that promulgation of a new constitution will not be possible on time if the current political situation continues; and a national consensus government is not going to happen, as political leaders blame the Maoists for everything going wrong in the country according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today.
