Prachanda’s interaction with Members of International Community

On Thursday, April 24, 2008, Maoists’ Chairman Prachanda and his deputy Dr. Baburam Bhattarai held an interaction seminar with the members of the international community at the UN building, Kathmandu. Emerging out of the interaction event and talking to the reporters, Chairman Prachanda said that the western countries have many questions about his party’s position on multiparty politics, peace, economic development and so on; his deputy and he attempted to convince them of his party’s commitment to those issues in view of the 21st century Nepal.
Referring to the question of the reporters about the reaction of the US Ambassador in Nepal to the interaction, Chairman Prachanda said that he was talking to a group including the US Ambassador; she neither reacted positively nor negatively; she just listened to whatever he has said.
The members of the international community discussed with the Maoist duo the wide-range issues from the constitution making to the making of the government.
