Prachanda’s Second China visit

On October 10, 2009, the Beijing News.Net reported that Former Prime Minister Prachanda is on a China visit starting on Sunday, October 11, 2009. This is the second visit of Prachanda to China. He made a first visit in August 2008 after taking the office of Prime Minister to attend the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games. Member of the legislature Krishna Bahadur Mahara, and Moist’s second-in-command Mohan Vaidya Kiran are accompanying Prachanda.

Mahara has said that the visit is for strengthening the ties between the two countries and between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Maoists.

On Friday, October 9, 2009, the Parliamentary Party meeting of United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) held at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu has decided to continue the nationwide protest programs until the President's unconstitutional move on the army chief and the issue of civilian supremacy are taken up for discussion in the legislature.
