President’s Concern For New Constitution

Issue 12, March 21, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 17, 2010: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has been showing his concern for timely writing of a new constitution. So, he has started off meeting with the political leaders apparently for impressing them on the need for writing a new constitution on time. He met with the Speaker on Monday, March 15 and had talks with the Speaker concerning the writing of a new constitution.

Mr. President is trying to find how he could play a role in writing a new constitution. Political analysts say that the president has already played a role in abusing the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 and bringing the current political deadlock adversely affecting the writing of a new constitution; so, he would play a positive role in breaking the current political deadlock by resigning the Presidential office and accepting his mistake in abusing the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007.
