Prime Minister Resigned
On May 4,
2009, in a message to the nation in a live telecast, Prime Minister
Prachanda announced his resignation and charged the President of acting
unconstitutionally intervening in the decision of the government and
issuing a letter to the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) to stay on in the
job and of hitting hard on the infant democracy. The Prime Minister
said that the President couldn’t do anything without the recommendation
of the elected government pursuant to the Constitution of Nepal; so he
has clearly acted against the Constitution.
‘Inhured’ has
registered a case at the Supreme Court of Nepal charging the President
of acting against the Constitution of Nepal; hearing on this case will
be held tomorrow according to the Nepal TV news.
