Protest Against The Agreement Between Nepalese And Indian Home Secretaries

June 10, 2013: in a statement issued on Sunday, June 9, 2013, chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya has opposed the two articles of the 28-article agreement reached between the Nepalese and Indian secretaries to the respective home ministries on June 1, 2013. Chairman Vaidhya opposed the Article 20 that says the establishment of a modern Nepalese police academy in Panauti, and its running to entrust to the Indians, and the Article 21 that says the entrustment of the modernization of the department of immigration at the international airport in Kathmandu to the Indians. These are two very sensitive areas in view of the national security the chairman opposed to trust the Indians, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Chairman Vaidhya also opposed the article that states the bilateral decisions made in the past to enforce, too. He said that no matter when they have made those decisions that go against the interest of the nation should be revoked immediately, such decisions should not be enforce on any pretext.
Chairman Vaidhya said that the government of Nepal should undertake the running, modernization, and construction of the state agencies related to the national security agencies. On any pretext, such undertakings of the security agencies should not be given to any other country, chairman Vaidhya said.
