Rename BP Marga To Nepal-Japan Highway For Better Bilateral Ties

June 10, 2011: after inspecting the BP Marga under construction with the Japanese financial assistance, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoko yesterday proposed to rename the BP Marga to Nepal-Japan Highway, and said that it would make good impact on the bilateral ties between Nepal and Japan, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
The ambassador has said that he would take up the issue with the officials of the Government of Nepal. He has also said that the highway would help to transport the fruits grown in the area increasing the incomes of the farmers; the Government of Japan will provide the farmers with support for transporting citrus fruits such as pineapples and oranges grown in the area.
