Shameful strike At State-run Teaching Hospital
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
March 24, 2010: resident and intern doctors have been on strike at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) at Maharagunj, Kathmandu since the last week demanding the cancellation of the MD/MS entrance exams held on March 13, 2010 and calling for the resignation of the Dean and for the formation of a new examination board alleging they have leaked out the question papers for money.
Doctors on strike have refused even to run the emergency services at the TUTH. Only in Nepal such things could happen. If they are successful in the fighting then they will set the precedent of failing students forcing the examination board to pass them at any cost. So, the Dean and the Examination Board need not give in to the demands of those students.
