Shutting Down Pokhara Airport For International Airport

September 28, 2012: the pressure group demanding construction of international airport in Pokhara has shut down the Pokhara airport for weeks adversely affecting the air travelers that fly to Pokhara for sightseeing. As such, the pressure group has been damaging the tourism industry in Pokhara. The pressure group also has been ignoring what the members of the group have been doing is illegal, and they are liable to charges of criminal acts for damaging the business of other people. They also need to understand that the government could not meet their demand immediately as it involves a huge resources. The pressure group would be well off to reach an understanding with the government before they would do quite damage to the tourism industry and send the business people involved in this industry going bankrupt.
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has urged the pressure group demanding the construction of international airport in Pokhara to stop shutting down the airport stating it would send a negative message of Nepal to the international community. Ministry also informed the group that a government delegation led by Secretary to the Ministry Yajna Prasad Gautam left for China on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 to resolve the legal hurdles to overcome for constructing the airport, according to nepalnews.com
