Signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese

On September 10, 2009, Nepalese ambassador to China Tanka Karki and Chinese Assistant Minister for Commerce Chong Quang have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on three projects such as cleaning vehicles and equipment, setting up a border area monitoring center at Tatopani, and study on improving the areas around the Ring-road in Kathmandu in presence of Nepalese Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and her Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of September 11, 2009.

On September 8, 2009, before leaving Kathmandu for China visit, Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala has said that she is going to sign three project agreements such as building a dry port at Tatopani on the Nepal-China border, making compost from trash, and constructing overpasses on the Kathmandu roads.
