Sit-in At District Administration Offices

Issue 23, June 7, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On June 3, 2009, cadres of the United Community Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) have held a two-hour sit-in at the District Administration Offices at all 75 districts in Nepal protesting the ceremonial President’s unconstitutional action of overruling the Council of Ministers’ decision on firing the Chief of Army Staff.

The UCPN-Maoist has decided to launch a peaceful movement against the ceremonial President’s unconstitutional action, for setting up the civilian supremacy over army, and for the suzerainty of people.
