Sudden Show-up Of Chaturbedi At Kathmandu District Court

September 15, 2011: Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi has suddenly yesterday showed up at the Kathmandu District Court to serve the jail sentence awarded by the Supreme Court of Nepal on September 07, 2011 and to pay fines imposed on him, ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

The Supreme Court of Nepal has written to the Kathmandu District Court to enforce the ruling on the corruption case filed by the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against the then General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi on the second day of the ruling.

Since then the staffs of Kathmandu District Court have been running after Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi to arrest him. Following the rules of the court, the staffs arresting the criminals would receive 20% of the fines imposed on them. So, the staffs have been very eager to arrest Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi to pocket 20% of Rs 13.9 million fines imposed on him but they have not been successful.

However, Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi along with his lawyer have showed up at the Kathmandu District Court denying the reward of 20% of the fines he has to pay to the court to the court staffs. Turning up personally at the Kathmandu District Court Ramagya Prasad Chaturbedi has enjoyed the deduction of the 20% of the fines he has to pay and 20% of the jail term he has to serve.

Thanks to the actions of the CIAA, one of the corrupt employees of Nepal Airlines Corporation is now in jail for his misdeeds. Others need to learn lessons from Mr. Chaturbedi.
