Three States In Madhesh Demand Tharus

April 23, 2012: At a press conference held in Bharatpur yesterday morning to make public the conclusions made by the two-day national roundtable conference of the Tharu community, leaders have said that the Tharu community demands making three provinces out of the Terai area, and no to the one-Madhesh Pradesh, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
At the roundtable conference, Tharu leaders have suggested to make three provinces such as Tharuhat Kochila autonomous province in the east, mid-Terai Simraugad autonomous province in the middle and Tharuhat Tharuwan autonomous province in the west out of the Terai area.
The eastern Tharuhat Kochila province comprises of eastern districts such as Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Udayapur and Siraha; the mid-Terai Tharuhat province Dhanusha, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat and Makawanpur districts; the western Tharuhat Tharuwan autonomous province Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Dang, Banke, Surkhet, Bardiya, Kailali to Mahakali.
At the same time, leaders of the four power centers have continued to sit together to build a consensus on various disputed issues, they have not been successful to do so but they have asked two more days for continuing to discuss the issues in the efforts on building a consensus on such issues.
