Tibetan Official For Helping Nepal Tourism Year 2011

May 26, 2011: Speaking at the tourism promotion program held by the Nepal Consulate at Lhasa of Tibet, Executive Director of the Tourism Administration Office of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Dr Sonping Wang has said that the opening of the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung transit between Nepal and China would help increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal consequently contributing to the success of Nepal Tourism Year 2011, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
Executive Director of the Tourism Administration Office of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Dr Sonping Wang has urged the travel and tour operators of Tibet to take Chinese tourists visiting Lhasa to Nepal running group and special tour package programs for them.
At the same event, Consul General of Nepal to Tibet, Ngaindra Prasad Upadhyaya has requested the Tibetan government bodies, tour operators, travel agencies and the media in Lhasa to encourage Chinese tourists visiting Lhasa also to visit Nepal.
Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office in Tibet, Yang Zian Kun said the tourism sector could play a crucial role in the expansion and development of bilateral relations between China and Nepal.
The Nepalese government has set the target of bringing 100,000 Chinese tourists to Nepal in the NTY 2011.
