Uncertain Political Situation In Nepal

April 16, 2010: some legislators belonging to the CPN-UML have started off voicing for forming a national unity government following the consensus politics for timely promulgation of a new constitution. While some other legislators have said that the Maoists have been attempting to form a new government that is not acceptable to the CPN-UML.
Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that submitting a no confidence motion against the government in the legislature his party would not play a dirty political game rather go to the people and pull down the government through the people’s support.
Senior Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has offered conditional support for the UCPN-Maoist to form a new government. He has put forward four major conditions to the UCPN-Maoist for his party’s support for the Maoist’s government. Spokesman for UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that the Nepali Congress has set such conditions for the Maoists to form a new government with the objective of sabotaging the constitution-writing process.
Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the country needs a new Constitution within the time frame set for it at any cost. Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanth Khanal has said that a new constitution would not be promulgated within the deadline set for it, as 70% of the contentious issues have not been resolved, yet.
