Uniforms For State Admin Employees

Issue 30, July 24, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

July 18, 2011: the government has enforced the uniform for the state admin employees from July 17, 2011. Most of the employees are seen in their new uniforms except for the few that have said that they have not found the uniforms in the market. The government has said that the introduction of uniforms for the state employees is for recognizing the state employees when the clients need service delivery from them.

The government has paid Rs 5,700 as the clothing allowance to each state admin employee. So, anybody can imagine how much money the government has wasted in enforcing the uniform for the state admin employees. If the country has 100,000 employees, the amount paid to them is Rs 570,000,000.

The government can simply issue ID card to each employee for hanging around her/his neck when s/he is on duty. It will cost only Rs 5 per employees. However, the government has gone to pay Rs 5,700 to each employee thus misusing the taxpayers’ money. Why the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) does not take up this issue?
