US Envoy Meets Maoists’ Chairman Prachanda

On May 02, 2008, in a statement, the US Embassy in Kathmandu said that Her Excellency Ambassador of United States of America Nancy Powell met with the Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist) Prachanda at his residence indicating the likelihood of removing the CPN-Maoist from its list of terrorist organizations. The US envoy left Nepal for Washington DC on Friday, May 01 after the meeting with Prachanda for briefing the US administration on the recent political development in Nepal.
